The heroes of "Gotham" are going to have their hands full in Season 2. Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) will continue to have his right hand henchman in the second season of the Fox prequel Batman series.

Drew Powell was confirmed as a regular for the upcoming season where he will reprise his role as Butch Gilzean, Deadline reports. Powell had a recurring role in the first season as Gilzean’s loyalty was tested as chief henchman to Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). In his last scene in season one, Gilzean had to pick a side as Cobblepot and Mooney fought on a rooftop. Mooney ended up taking a long fall down to the water, where her fate was left unknown.

Season 2 will continue to test Gilzean, as Cobblepot takes over the cities organized crime now that Mooney and Carmine "The Roman" Falcone appear to be out of the picture.

Powell joins fellow guest stars turned regulars Morena Baccarin, who plays Gordon’s love interest Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Nicholas D’Agosto who is Harvey Dent/Two Face and Chris Chalk who plays Lucius Fox. Michael Chiklis will also be joining the cast as Captain Nathaniel Barnes, which gives Detective James "Jim" Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie) a solid back-up.

Last Friday, Fox released two teaser trailers showing a glimpse of what is to come in the second season. One of the trailers highlights the “Rise of the Villains,” as Season 2 will feature many new enemies, including the whip-wielding Tigress, Joker and several other enemies that Gordon will be facing. It is also rumored that the villain Mr. Freeze will also appear this season, Cinema Blend notes.

"Gotham" tells the story behind Detective Gordon's rise to Commissioner in Gotham City in the years before Batman arrives and many of the villains come of age. “Gotham” Season 2 returns this fall. The premiere episode is scheduled to air on Monday, Sept. 21, on Fox.
