Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) will be busier than ever in "Gotham" Season 2. Gotham City will continue to descend into darkness as villains new and old will begin to rise to power.
A new promo video and photos from the premiere episode, "Damned If You Do," released Monday, show glimpses of several of the villains who will be causing chaos for Gotham City police in Season 2. New villain Theo Galavan (James Frain) can be heard speaking throughout the video, saying, "Gotham would tremble before me. We want headlines. We want mass panic."
"Shameless" star Cameron Monaghan, who will play Jerome Valeska, is shown frequently in the video with his menacing laugh as the origin of The Joker will be shown at some point this season. Familiar faces like Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) also make appearances in the video, while one of the new villains, Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) a.k.a. Tigris, is revealed with a blood spattered face.
The new promo video can be seen below:
While the trailer makes Jerome look like he's the Joker, it’s unclear if he’ll actually be Batman’s (David Mazouz) nemesis. “This is not a red herring,” writer/producer Bruno Heller told E! Online in February. “It's the beginning of the story of how the Joker came to be, how the Joker was created, where he came from, who he is. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that Cameron Monaghan is the Joker. He might be.”
Those unable to catch the first season of "Gotham" will have the opportunity to watch the entire first installment on Netflix, which begin streaming Sept. 21. Netflix subscribers who missed out on Season 1, or want to see it again, will have the opportunity to watch all 22 episodes.
"Gotham" Season 2 premieres Monday, Sept. 21, on Fox at 8 p.m. EDT. Check out several photos from the from the premiere episode, "Damned If You Do," below:
