Gotham Season 2 Finale Monsters
“Gotham” Season 2 came to an end with Hugo Strange’s monsters breaking loose in Gotham City, which set up which villains will appear in Season 3. Fox

Hugo Strange was finally stopped in the “Gotham” Season 2 finale, but his twisted creations are ready to make their mark on Gotham City. Some of his worst monsters escaped Indian Hill in a bus driven by Fish Mooney. When the door to the bus opened, new and old villains made their presence known heading into Season 3, including Jerome Valeska.

In the final minutes of the finale, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) drove a bus filled with Hugo Strange’s (BD Wong) subjects into Gotham City. Fish wanted to be free once again and return to her life of crime. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Butch (Drew Powell) took the bus down with gunfire because they believed Strange was the one driving. When Fish walked out of the bus, the two were stunned, and she was able to escape.

Another major villain also made a return in the finale. When the homeless woman opened the back door of the bus to free the monsters, a familiar evil laugh was heard. The laugh was none other than the cackle of Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), who many believe will be the Joker on “Gotham.” Although it appeared he was killed earlier in Season 2, his body was shown in a tank at Indian Hill, which suggested he’d be back at some point. Fans could possibly see his return in Season 3, when he’ll likely create more chaos.

Fish Mooney and Jerome were recognizable, but the other creatures were new to the viewers. There was a woman with large hair, a creature with alienlike hands and a man who could be Killer Croc. The most interesting of these new characters was the Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) lookalike. ComicBook.com said the character is likely to be one of two characters — both of whom have ties to the Court of Owls. He could be Thomas Wayne Jr., who was sent away and taken in by the Court of Owls, or he could be a resurrected Talon. Could Bruce have an evil brother or relative out there that could try to take his place?

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, executive producer John Stephens revealed that Season 3 is going to feature plenty of new villains. He said you can expect to see the Mad Hatter, the Tweedle brothers, Talon and Solomon Grundy. Grundy may have been the large creature with the glowing green eyes shown in Indian Hill. The Mad Hatter was also teased when Strange got the idea to put different personas in each of his subjects.
