It has long been the wish of “Gotham” star David Mazouz for his character, Bruce Wayne, to become friends with a young Clark Kent in the Fox show.

But sadly, Mazouz said his wish is probably never going to happen. The best he is hoping for now is for the show to reference Superman at one point or another.

“I’ve said this from the beginning, it’s probably never going to happen, but it would be so cool for some kind of Clark Kent Easter egg come on the show,” Mazouz told Comic Book. “Even if it was just like a scene in the GCPD with Bullock [Donal Logue] reading a newspaper with a headline that says, ‘Teenage Boy in Metropolis Saves Busload of Kids.’ No one has to talk about it, just leave it there on the newspaper.”

“Or, if the writers wanted to get creative,” Mazouz continued, “Clark Kent could take a boat ride over across the bay to Gotham and create a young friendship with Bruce Wayne I think that would be even more cool.”

It would really help Bruce if he has a friendship with Clark. This Season 4, a terrible tragedy prompted Bruce into becoming a rebellious teenager who does nothing but party and cause trouble for his guardian, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee).

“Because of a tragedy that happens, it’s going to change him and it’s going to turn him into that person. He becomes somebody that nobody should be proud of, and that Alfred definitely isn’t proud of, and it gets really dark but it’s been so much fun to play,” he told Screen Rant.

Bruce’s change has negatively impacted his relationship with Alfred, and he has also veered away from his ex-girlfriend, Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova).

But Bicondova told Buddy TV that Selina is far too busy working on herself to worry about Bruce’s shenanigans. She wants to become more independent, since she “has come to the realization that she can't depend on [Bruce] for anything, no matter what she does, so she decides to look out for herself.”

“Gotham” Season 4 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
