Butch Gilzean or Cyrus Gold (Drew Powell) will return to “Gotham” Season 4 as a zombie named Solomon Grundy. Fox

Every season of “Gotham,” there’s a villain or two that fans cannot wait to see. Last season, it was the resurrection of the Joker (Cameron Monaghan) and the formation of the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith). But this Season 4, it’s definitely the transition of former mobster Butch Gillian (Drew Powell) into the zombie, Solomon Grundy.

In the new trailer for the fifth episode entitled “There’s no Coming Back From This,” Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) was seen tracking down his nemesis, Ra’s Al Ghul (Alexander Siddig), only to be beaten down by him. Bruce’s guardian, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) seeks the help of Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), but both men seem to have no clue about the boy’s whereabouts. Just when the trailer seemed over, a zombie’s eyes flew open and the thump of his footsteps reverberated as he made his way to Gotham City.

The synopsis for the next episode, which was shared by Fan Fest, teased that Grundy will meet Nygma. But instead of fighting, the two will form an unexpected alliance.

“Nygma comes face-to-face with Butch Gilzean, but he is not who he used to be. In an attempt to regain power and identity, Nygma decides to put his former partner’s skills to the test. Meanwhile, Sofia Falcone takes action to protect her own life by appealing to Penguin’s vulnerable side. With the power of the dagger in his possession, Bruce surprises those around him with his bold actions,” it reads.

After the two gets together, they will find Dr. Leslie “Lee” Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) in The Narrows - a seedy underground society that hosts fight clubs.

Feeling guilty over her past misdeeds, Lee is making up for her mistakes by offering her services to the downtrodden. “There’s a lot of fighting, a lot of blood,” Baccarin told AM New York. “I’m the doctor there.”

Despite their differences, Lee will forge a kinship with Nygma and Grundy. “It’s the dream team you didn’t know you needed,” Powell laughingly said of their partnership.

“Gotham” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
