The Great Googamooga took over Brooklyn's Prospect Park this weekend.

Close to 40,000 people gathered for the first annual food and music festival, which was both hailed as a celebratory zeitgeist for the Foody age and, as New York Times film critic A.O. Scott put it on Twitter, unimpeded hipsterism.

Regardless of one's preconceived thoughts about the pretentiousness of food culture, Googamooga featured some of the best food that New York City has to offer, and was made all the more magnificent by the backdrop of live shows from The Roots and Hall & Oates and the beautiful spring weather.

Getting to the food -- which included BBQ staples like cheeseburgers and pulled-pork sandwiches along side more exotic fare, like pork belly tacos and crayfish macaroni and cheese -- was less ecstatic. Long lines and disorganization plagued the festival, and some would come to describe the event as the worst event I’ve ever been to ever, and the definition of an Epic Fail!”

The worst line for was for beer tickets, and on Saturday some people waited in the sun for up to two hours to get the plastic cups needed for beer tasting pavilion.

Get a clue. No one that I talked to was happy. Did you have a CLUE what you were doing?” Diana asked Superfly Productions, the organizers of the festival, in a Facebook message.

Despite the frustration of people in line, the mood inside the beer tent, where Googa-Moogsters could and did imbibe in dozens of different micro-brews, was noticeably more festive. Additionally, Sunday reportedly ran much smoother than Saturday.
