Greece announced its preliminary fourth-quarter reading, showing a contraction of 1.4 percent during the final three months of this year, compared with the previous contraction of 1.7 percent. Analysts expected the contraction to reach 1.5 percent. Meanwhile, on the yearly basis, the index reported a contraction of 6.6 percent, compared with the previous contraction of 4.6 percent and the expected 4.9 percent contraction.
