RTTNews - Greece import prices were down 4.5% on a yearly basis in May mainly due to 16.9% decline in energy prices, a report from General Secretariat of the National Statistical Service of Greece showed Tuesday. In May 2008, import prices had increased 10.1%.

Compared to April 2009, the import price index rose 1.6%, much slower than the 2.5% increase recorded in the same period of previous year.

In the twelve-month period from June 2008 to May 2009, the annual average rate of change in the index was 2.2%.
