RTTNews - Monday, a report by the General Secretariat National Statistical Service of Greece said the jobless rate stood at 9.3% in the first quarter, up from 8.3% last year. During this period, 104,937 persons were unemployed compared to the previous year.

The jobless rate was the highest for the population aged 15-29 at 18.5% and lowest for the population aged 65 years and over, at 0.9%.

In the first quarter, employment increased 0.4% in the primary sector and 0.7% in the tertiary sector, but declined 4.9% in the secondary sector.
