Thursday, the General Secretariat of the National Statistical Service of Greece announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 1% year-over-year in April, slower than the 1.3% increase in the previous month. A year ago, the CPI was up 4.4%.

Month-on-month, the CPI increased 0.3% in April, compared with a 2% rise seen in March.

Separately, the statistical office said the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 1.1% year-on-year in April, slower than the 1.5% increase in the preceding month. On a monthly basis, the HICP was up 0.4% in April, after rising 2% in March.
