The Greek central government budget deficit expanded by 15% over annual basis in the period from January to September of this year due to the deeper than expected recession and the sluggish growth. The governmental budget deficit expanded to 19.16 billion euros from 16.65 billions, according to the finance ministry said

On the other hand the deficit was less than the revised indicative target of 19.24 billion euros, the ministry added. The data refer to the budget deficit, which excludes local authorities and social security spending.
