He’s back! That’s right, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. The man, the myth, the legend—better known as Dr. Preston Burke—will be making his dramatic return to Sloan Grey Memorial Hospital during episode 22, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” And when we say dramatic… we mean it. A sneak peek clip of the May 1 episode shows Burke theatrically revealing himself at Cristina Yang’s presentation as he slowly creeps out from the shadows and into the light.

And while we’re excited for the Yang/Burke reunion—we had to admit, we’re more excited for another relationship on “Grey’s” to unfold. We’re talking about Amelia Shepherd’s relationship with Meredith Grey. See, Isaiah Washington isn’t the only actor reprising his role on “Grey’s.” Caterina Scorsone was also brought back to Season 10 as a blast from past. But this time her character on the show has evolved from the last time we saw her on “Private Practice.”

“I’d been talking to Shonda [Rhimes] on and off ever since ‘Private Practice’ ended — I love her and we have a great relationship,” Scorsone told TV Live. “She has always liked the character of Amelia, so it was kind of always in the back of I think both of our minds that it would be possible that Amelia would come over.”

The actress continued to explain Rhimes remained very “tight-lipped” about what he character would be up too when she returned to Seattle.

“She told me was that Amelia would come to Seattle and there would be stuff with Derek and the babies, and that she was ‘mulling.’ That’s a key term for her, she was like, ‘I’m mulling…. I’m not sure exactly where it’s going to go, but I’m mulling,’” she said.

Mulling over what? According to reports, Amelia will have conflicting emotions about being back at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and it seems that the only person who can read in to Derek's sister's torment is Meredith.

“One of the nice things that starts to happen in the next episode is there starts to be a bit of a bond formed between Amelia and Meredith. Amelia was always very, very close to Addison, Derek’s ex-wife, so she hasn’t really had an opportunity to get close to Meredith – it was almost like a ‘conflict of interest.’ But as it turns out, Derek knows how to pick them, so she starts getting closer to Meredith.’”

Hold on… does that mean Amelia will become Meredith’s new “person”? Now that Sandra Oh’s character is leaving the show after the Season 10 finale, the position for Meredith’s bestie is up for grabs and it looks like Amelia will be snagging that sucker.

Ugh, our heart hurts. Oh’s leaving of the show is starting to feel too real. But it looks like we’ll have to suck it up because this new friendship isn’t going anywhere. Or at least, that’s what Scorsone revealed. During the interview, she was asked if her character will appear in Season 11 of the hit drama—that is, if she survives the Season 10 finale.

“I sure hope so,” she replied. “To the very last second, we don’t know what’s happening as the actors on the front line. But there are so many complicated aspects to where this story could go in the future. I would absolutely be game to play in this world as long as she wanted me there.”
