The episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” Thursday night blindsided us with Dr. Herman’s (Geena Davis) unfathomable fate. But, according to the synopsis for the ABC drama’s next installment, viewers will be shaken to their cores when episode 15, “I Feel the Earth Move,” is shown Thursday, March 12.

The summary teases that an earthquake will cause those at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to tremble with fear -- specifically Maggie (Kelly McCreary), who will get stuck in an elevator during the disaster. We’re just crossing our fingers that she doesn’t get trapped with a patient in need of medical care! But considering this is “Grey’s Anatomy,” we’re adhering to Murphy’s law and expecting the worst.

While Maggie is confined, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be forced to handle the emergency room alone, and for a while she appears to be on a roll in terms of keeping her patients alive. But the summary reveals that the jolting earthquake will “threaten her streak of successful surgeries.” Can Meredith keep it together amid the calamity?

The earthquake will be damaging to those not only in Grey Sloan Memorial but also in the rest of Seattle. According to the synopsis, Owen (Kevin McKidd) will be forced to give medical advice to an 11-year-old child over a phone after help is unable to reach the boy’s mother.

“Hello? Is this the hospital? I need help,” the child says in the promo video for episode 15. “My mom’s not moving.”

That’s when Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) notices her beau freaking out. “What’s going on?” she asks Owen, only to learn that the boy’s mother is going to suffocate if they don’t get involved immediately.

“I’m going to need you to get a knife,” Owen instructs the child, who is clearly uncomfortable with what he’s being asked to do. “Push hard!” Owen then shouts into the phone.

Before the trailer concludes, audiences can hear the little boy scream as the call disconnects.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11, episode 15, will be shown on ABC Thursday, March 12, at 8 p.m. EDT.
