‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11 Spoilers: Plane Crash Set To Shake Up Seattle; How Will Meredith React To Horrific Accident?

The drama is about to come crashing down on Season 11 of “Grey’s Anatomy” – literally. According to reports, fans of the hit ABC series should brace themselves for yet another devastating event on “Grey’s.” Curious what dangers the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital must face this time? Well, it’s an incident that some of our favorite surgeons already have experienced firsthand: a plane crash.

That’s right, Entertainment Weekly revealed that another aircraft crash will occur on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but this one will take place near the Seattle hospital. After news breaks of the collision, all medical personal will hightail it to the ER – at least most of Grey Sloan’s surgeons will.

As “Grey’s” fans well remember, Season 8 concluded with one of the most memorable episodes to date as six doctors from the former Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital were victims of an aviation accident. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and Mark (Eric Dance) were the doctors aboard the plane that crashed into the woods. Unfortunately, both Lexie and Mark perished. Lexie was crushed to death after a part of the plane landed on top of her while Mark died in Season 9 after sustaining internal injuries from the gruesome collision.

Many of the survivors developed post-traumatic stress disorder. Arizona was convinced her leg, which was broken during the crash, was going to be amputated (which it eventually was) and Cristina was unable to talk following the horrific accident.

How will the doctors who were involved in the Season 8 accident respond to the next plane crash? Well, let’s just say Meredith and Arizona won’t be rushing to scrub in when episode 20, titled “One Flight Down,” airs. Entertainment Weekly revealed that Mer and Arizona will suffer from PTSD once again when the airplane comes falling out of the sky.
