Owen will finally get the closure he’s been longing for on “Grey’s Anatomy.” He and estranged wife Amelia will come face-to-face for a much needed chat about their fate in Season 13, episode 17.

While it seemed the marriage was over, Caterina Scorsone suggests ABC viewers keep hope alive. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she explained that Amelia (Scorsone) is facing the grief of having lost a child years later. Will Owen (Kevin McKidd) come along for the ride? Only time will tell.

“I have confidence that [showrunner] Shonda [Rhimes] can bring us back from any brink, but I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Scorsone said.

McKidd echoed that sentiment, but seemed far less hopeful. He explained to EW that he could see both sides of the argument, but gave no indication that either was willing to bend. In fact, McKidd told the publication things were looking pretty grim for he and his TV wife.

“It gets very real; the rubber hits the road with them both. They both lay out their ultimatums. For the moment, it doesn’t look good,” he said.

Viewers may get a deeper look inside Owen’s mind. During PaleyFest, McKidd opened up about his character’s struggles on “Grey’s Anatomy.” He called Owen “a very tortured guy,” adding that he’s focused on his desire to have a family.

“He desperately wants a baby,” McKidd said (via TV Line). “Owen’s really struggling. He’s a very tortured guy. He thinks the thing that’s going to fix him is to have a family with this beautiful woman.”
