Another rumor surrounding whether action-adventure title “Grand Theft Auto 5” will be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 3 has surfaced. NYC-based developer Rockstar has confirmed it is developing a game for the new generation of consoles during a recent earnings call with analysts and investors.

During the earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the company is working on a title for Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 that will arrive before the end of March next year.

”Rockstar Games is hard at work on their upcoming lineup, and we’re excited about what they have in store for the new generation of systems this fiscal year,” Zelnick said. Take-Two Interactive owns Rockstar Games. Its fiscal year ends on March 31, 2015.

One of the most important indications that “GTA 5” could be coming to the Xbox One or PS4 is the amount of time it will take for the games’ release to happen. “GTA 5” launched last fall for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and if Rockstar predicts its next major release will launch by early 2015, it would make sense to see a port instead of a brand new title for the newest batch of consoles.

Of course, it is entirely plausible that Rockstar is planning to launch a completely new game.

Last month, Romanian site Altex has listed the 2013 action-adventure title for sale for the PC, citing the release date as March 15, 2015. The site also listed PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game for release on June 15, 2015.

On April 4, manager of German retailer site Saturn.de tweeted about the game's upcoming launch on the PC and next-gen consoles. Though he later confirmed the launch to be a rumor, players are still curious as to whether the 2013 title will soon be available on platforms other than the PS3 and Xbox 360.
