A New York City prison guard is facing 15 years in prison after she allegedly became pregnant from convicted cop killer Ronell Wilson.

Wilson, who is awaiting a penalty phase retrial after being found guilty of killing New York City cops James Nemorin and Rodney Andrews during an undercover gun sting in 2003, allegedly had sex and impregnated prison guard Nancy Gonzalez, who was in charge of watching him, according to court papers.

It is illegal for prison guards to engage in sexual relations with inmates, and Gonzalez apparently was aware of the crime, allegedly telling one of the inmates that she “could get 15 years for this,” ABC News reported.

Gonzalez is allegedly eight months pregnant with Wilson’s child, according to the New York Times. The affair allegedly began in March 2012.

“I took a chance because I was so vulnerable and wanted to be loved and now I am carrying his child,” the prison guard said in a recorded phone call, the Times reported. “Why not give him a child as far as giving him some kind of hope.”

Gonzalez, 29, was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. According to court papers, the prison guard allegedly admitted to having sex with Wilson, 30, and becoming pregnant with his child.

"I just basically got wrapped up in something that I should not have got wrapped up [in] ... getting myself up with someone that is so high profile that when he farts it makes the news,” Gonzalez allegedly said about Wilson. "I can't explain it. I know what's to come. I know what is going to be said about me. I know that for me as a parent, how am I going to explain this to this little boy? Mommy was in the military. Mommy was a C.O. [corrections officer.] Mommy got wrapped up in …So how do you explain that.”

Wilson was sentenced to death for the 2007 murders of Andrews and Nemorin, but the death penalty was later overturned on procedural grounds, the New York Post reported.

Other inmates allegedly saw the cop killer engaging in inappropriate behavior with the prison guard, according to court documents.

Gonzalez was allegedly seen standing by the open doors of Wilson’s cell with Wilson standing in the doorway “with his pants down, exposing his genitals,” according to the Post.

Prison guards are not allowed to have sexual relations with inmates, in part because such a relationship is a huge security risk.

Prosecutors were worried that Gonzalez might have helped Wilson attempt to escape from the Metropolitan Detention Center, the Post reported.

Wilson’s lawyers are arguing that he be spared the death penalty; they maintain their client has such a low I.Q. that killing him would be cruel and unusual punishment.
