Developer Telltale Games announced Tuesday the first chapter of Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will digitally launch April 18. The first episode, Tangled Up In Blue, of the episodic game series will be available on PlayStation 4, Google Android, Xbox One, Apple iOS and PC for $4.99.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series’ digital release will also be followed by a retail launch for its season pass discs beginning May 2 in North America and expanding globally starting May 5. With the season pass disc, you’ll be able to immediately play the initial episode and download new episodes when they come out.

Extensive plot details have yet to be officially revealed for the episodic series — Telltale plans to drop an official Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series trailer for the first episode later this week — but the standalone game will revolve around an item the Guardians and a female villain each want to take.

Notably, new screenshots feature Thanos, the intergalactic villain who plays a major role in the Marvel film universe. The game series won’t feature cast members from the Guardians films, though notable video game voice actors such as Nolan North are part of the game’s cast.

As with past Telltale titles like its The Walking Dead series, Guardians of the Galaxy features a heavy emphasis on interactivity and a branching narrative that reflects your in-game choices. The game also comes in advance of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to the original Guardians of the Galaxy, which will debut in theaters May 5.
