After being left out of the cast announcement in May, it appears the actors who portrayed the Warriors Three in “Thor: The Dark World” are returning for the third film, “Thor: Ragnarok.” Fans may no longer have to worry about the return of the characters after actors Tadanobu Asano and Ray Stevenson, who play Hogun and Volstagg, were spotted in Australia where the film is currently in production.

Asano’s confirmation comes after the actor posted a selfie on Instagram with a caption that read, “Hello Australia.” As for Stevenson, the actor was mentioned in an Instagram photo by user punkturedtattoo of Gold Coast tattoo shop in Australia. “Look who just stopped by our Gold Coast studio, to get some ink in between filming ‘THOR!’ It's Ray Stevenson!”

The only actor to not hint at his return on social media was Zachary Levi, who played Fandral. But don’t worry, “Thor” fans, Levi has previously hinted at filming “Ragnarok.” ComicBookMovie.com reported that during San Diego Comic-Con in July, Levi said he would spend a few days shooting a movie but didn’t mention the project by name.

While many of the characters in the Thor franchise are based on characters from Norse mythology, the Warriors Three are original creations of Marvel. The characters first made their appearance in comics in 1965 and have played supporting roles since then.

Set to release on Nov. 3, 2017, producer Kevin Feige has called “Thor: Ragnarok” “a very important movie for us in Phase 3,” referring to the schedule in which Marvel films are released. Feige has also previously revealed that “Ragnarok” would take place after the events in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

As for the title of the film, Feige has confirmed that in the context of the film, Ragnarok means “the end of all things.” While official confirmation of the actors’ comeback is unofficial, it would make sense for the Warriors Three to return to the film. In the comics, when Loki brought Ragnarok down upon Asgard, the Warriors Three were an important part of the story that included the death of some characters.
