CONAKRY, Dec 8 - Guinea's military junta leader, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, is well and will address the nation soon, a spokesman said on Tuesday, five days after an assassination bid on the West African nation's leader.

The president is well. I think that he will address the nation and its people either this evening or tomorrow, Information Minister Idrissa Cherif told Reuters in Conakry.

Camara was evacuated to Morocco on Friday and has been operated on for head wounds after his former aide-de-camp shot him during an argument, fuelling concerns of a power vacuum and further instability in the world's top producer of bauxite. (Reporting by Saliou Samb; writing by David Lewis)
