Gwen Stefani is not planning to take any big step with boyfriend Blake Shelton unless her three children are completely fine with it, Hollywood Life reported Sunday. This comes after Radar Online reported last Friday that Stefani declined Shelton’s wedding proposal because of her sons Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2.

“[Stefani] definitely tells her kids what’s going on and runs things by them all the time,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She wants their wellbeing accounted for, and if and when she goes through another marriage, she wants the kids to be on board. They really like Blake, but she definitely wants to make sure they’re okay, since the divorce is still very fresh for the kids.”

Shelton reportedly popped the question to Stefani during an indoor picnic at her house. The country singer reportedly hid a stunning $1.2 million Tiffany diamond engagement ring in a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken. However, Stefani refused the proposal because of her children and also because of their 7-year age difference. Shelton is 39 years old and Stefani is 46.

“Gwen fears their age will get in the way of long-term happiness,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s 14 years older than Blake’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert!”

Moreover, Stefani’s ex-husband Gavin Rossdale’s rumored cheating on her with their nanny has reportedly triggered trust issues for her.

Recently, Stefani reportedly met Rossdale to carry out the final formalities of their divorce. Stefani was pictured sitting in her car before leaving the place where she met her former husband. She reportedly looked upset and emotional after her meeting. Stefani and Rossdale finalized their divorce in April, ending 13 years of marriage.
