A John Terry header off the cross by Frank Lampard in the 20th minute is the difference in the first half, as Chelsea lead Blackpool, 1-0, at Bloomfield Road.

Terry was unmarked off the cross and the header was an easy one for the central defender to pounce on.

Blackpool have had some strong chances, and challenged Petr Cech on two strikes in the last 12 minutes.

Ian Evatt delivered a ball that Cech had to palm over for a corner in the 35th minute.

Two minutes earlier, Jason Puncheon struck the ball well and Cech was a little slow to react but managed to tap it away, but Blackpool didn't have a player to pounce on the rebound after it hit the post.

Fernando Torres has only one shot, and the goal watch continues for the Spanish striker.

There were no yellow cards and no substitutions in the match.
