The rumors are true: After reports surfaced that actress Halle Berry and fellow actor, fiancé Olivier Martinez, are expecting, outlets reported the pair are having a baby boy. Martinez confirmed the claims Wednesday.

During a red carpet interview for the opening night of the Champs-Elysees Film Festival in Paris, an event where Martinez is serving as the 2013 honorary president, the 47-year-old confirmed the gender of the couple’s baby. “My son will be American, but I remain French,” Martinez told People.

Berry’s lover went on to say that he has enjoyed adjusting to the “X-Men: The Last Stand" star’s home country after the couple made their relationship official in 2011. “I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there, but I’m still a foreigner,” Martinez said.

Berry, 46, was last spotted in Paris on Tuesday, holding hands with Martinez and sporting a noticeably larger baby bump since her last appearance in Sherman Oaks, Calif., in late May. The Daily Mail reported Wednesday that the actress is currently 5 months along in her pregnancy and is expected to deliver in the fall. The expecting couple is scheduled to walk the festival’s red carpet together on Thursday.

The baby will be the first child for the French actor. Berry has a daughter, 5-year-old Nahla, with her former flame, model Gabriel Aubry, 36.
