The Countdown to Christmas event on Hallmark Channel continues to tick right along with its second premiere this weekend, “A Gift to Remember,” on Sunday night.

The new movie stars Ali Liebert and Peter Porte as the romantic leads, making this a huge milestone for Liebert, who has been in six previous Hallmark movies since 2012, but never as the lead.

As for Porte, he recently starred in Hallmark Channel’s Summer Nights film “Love at the Shore,” with Amanda Righetti, making this only his second Hallmark movie.

Now, the two are starring in this new Christmas movie together and are adding to their Hallmark credit list.

Here’s what to expect from the Countdown to Christmas movie.

“Darcy’s (Liebert) lifelong love of reading has led her to the perfect job, working in a small Manhattan bookstore,” the synopsis reads. “One day, while bicycling to work, Darcy crashes into Aidan (Porte) - a sharply dressed gentleman walking his dog.”

The man is knocked down so hard that he comes unconscious and is rushed to the hospital. Once there, he falls into a coma, leaving Darcy deeply shaken. She decides to take his dog home, where he’ll wait until he can be reunited with his owner, Aidan.

Once Aidan wakes up, he realizes that he doesn’t know how he got to the hospital, or who he is, for that matter. The accident causes him to lose his memory, and Darcy decides that it’s up to her to help him figure it out since she was the one who hit him with the bicycle. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome and she wouldn’t mind spending some time with him.

“In the process, she finds out a lot more about who she is, what she wants from life, and how this too-good-to-be-true guy might just be the man she’s been waiting to bump into all her life,” the synopsis reveals.

But when the truth about everything comes out and all is revealed, “Darcy learns the picture she created is completely wrong, and that sometimes the truth is even better than fiction.”

The film was directed by Kevin Fair and was written by Dean Orion and Topher Payne.

“A Gift to Remember” makes its debut on the Hallmark Channel tonight at 8 p.m. EST.
