After weeks -- or in some cases hours -- working diligently to craft the perfect Halloween costume, your day to show off your efforts has finally arrived.

But there's more than just a bag of sweet treats to be earned this Oct. 31. From Olive Garden to Krispy Kreme, several restaurants and fast food establishments are offering free or discounted edibles this Halloween. And some of the deals don’t even require that you wear a costume -- a welcome option for those who can’t bear to be a sheet ghost again this year.

Many of the freebies are for children. But kids at heart can benefit from a few as well. So fill up on some tasty food before heading out to battle ghouls, goblins and possibly a pirate or two with one of the Halloween 2013 deals below!

Chipotle is offering you a burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos for $3 if you visit participating restaurants in your Halloween costume. The deal runs from 4 p.m. to close.
