For "Hannibal" fans, the news just gets worse and worse. It was bad enough when the "Fannibals" were deprived of a potential Season 4 after NBC decided not to renew the critically acclaimed series following ratings struggles. Now, members of the show's rabid cult fan base may have to forfeit their Saturday nights just to watch the remaining episodes of Season 3.

According to TV Line, the second half of "Hannibal" Season 3 will have a new night. NBC has decided to start airing the remaining episodes of the series on Saturday nights, at 10 p.m. EDT, instead of its usual Thursday night time slot. The change is effective immediately and the upcoming episode 7, "Digestivo," will not premiere until the weekend. The announcement was coupled with a decision to also move the new Charles Manson drama, "Aquarius," to Saturdays as well, despite the network having renewed that show for a second season. "Aquarius" will air just before "Hannibal" at 9 p.m. EDT.

The news comes as "Hannibal" fans grow increasingly desperate for someone to save their beloved show. Creator and executive producer Bryan Fuller addressed those hopes, even raising the idea of a "Hannibal" movie, at the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday featuring Fuller, actors Hugh Dancy and Richard Armitage, and executive producer Martha de Laurentiis.

“We are still looking,” Fuller said, according to Variety. “We don’t have a lot of answers and we’re looking at the possibility of a feature.”

Fuller also took the opportunity to explain the recent news that Netflix and Amazon had passed on the opportunities to pick up the show.

“Netflix couldn’t do it because of the Amazon streaming,” Fuller explained, referring to Amazon holding the streaming rights to the first three seasons. “Amazon would liked to have done it but they wanted to do it very quickly and I wanted to be able to get all the scripts in advance before we starting shooting…the schedule with their desire to put it on immediately was just impossible for us.”

In the meantime, viewers eager for their final "Hannibal" fix will have to spend the next few weekends spending Saturdays in or setting their DVRs. For a fan base that donned crowns of flowers at Comic-Con in tribute to the show, that should not be a hard sell. "Hannibal" will begin airing on Saturdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC starting this week.
