Katy Perry, the Southern California born beauty, is celebrating her 27th birthday on Oct. 25. Happy Birthday is the main topic her fans tweeted on Tuesday.

For Perry, this might be a whirlwind, record-breaking year. The star released her third studio album, Teenage Dream, in 2010, which skyrocketed Katy into the public limelight. The singles “Firework”, “E.T.”, and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” from the album became an international hit this summer.

Perry also was nominated for ten awards at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Moreover, the star made a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother and lent her voice for the character Smurfette in The Smurfs movie, which left unforgettable impression on the audience.
