Happy Birthday, Mariah Carey! We're not sure how old the singer is (some sources say she's turning 42, others say she's now 43), but we hope she has a great day nonetheless.

Carey is one of the last of her kind, a singer who sold CDs and made fun music videos that fans couldn't wait to see.

She's had quite a year. She collaborated with Justin Bieber for his Christmas CD, had twin babies with husband Nick Cannon, and became a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig.

On a more personal level, she stuck by her man as he dealt with health issues. Cannon had mild kidney failure and lung problems that were caused by a form of lupus.

Cannon publicly praised his wife at the BET Honors in January for helping him get through the tough time.
