One Direction fans can rest easy knowing that the band’s lead singer, Harry Styles, is not quitting the boy group despite rumors about a forthcoming solo career.

The rumors that Styles, 20, was planning to part ways with One Direction started buzzing this week after Kodaline front man Steve Garrigan suggested, after a writing session with the teen idol, that Styles might begin working on a solo project.

“He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music," Garrigan told Digital Spy at Glastonbury on Saturday. "We had a bit of free time, and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun.”

He added that while the band may not use a Styles-coproduced single, Styles himself might.

“It could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know," Garrigan said. "Nothing is set in stone."

While Garrigan’s comments may have caused some worry among Directioners, a rep for Styles claims there is no truth to rumors that the singer is ready to fly solo.

“There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time ... any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs,” a rep for One Direction told E! News on Tuesday. The rep added, “It's common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring [ideas] to each other for the album."

Styles was last rumored to be pursuing a solo career in December 2013. An insider close to the band told HollywoodLife.com that after the success of the group’s album “Midnight Memories,” Styles had hoped to release a solo album. “Harry really wants to record his own stuff and put out an album now that this one is done,” a source said, adding, “Trust me, he’s going to do it.”

One Direction is currently prepping for a 39 city U.S./Canada tour, kicking off at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Aug. 4.

Styles was last photographed soaking up some rays in Lake Como, Italy, on June 30.
