IPad '3' Release Date April 20th For 21 Additional Countries, Apple's New Tablet Goes Global [REPORT]
Apple's new iPad has been available in the United States and Europe for over a month now, but the device has yet to expand globally. The Cupertino-based company is looking to change that, announcing that the next generation tablet will make its debut in 21 additional countries starting on April 20th. Apple

iPad 3's Retina display has created quite a stir among the tablet lovers. The HD resolution of the iPad 3 screen has received several accolades from the critics as well as from the users. The top-notch display is the flagship and number one marketing feature for the new generation iPad. While the enhanced screen resolution of the new iPad steals the limelight from other tablets, let's take a closer look at all other devices which sport gorgeous displays.

iPad 3

Even an ardent Apple fan will accept that the latest iPad sells only because of its Retina display.

The iPad features a resolutionary Retina display, which is also mercury and arsenic-free, with 2048 x 1536 resolution, 44 percent greater color saturation and 3.1 million pixels - in the same 9.7-inch space. The pixel numbers are four times the number of pixels in the iPad 2 and a million more than in an HDTV and hence results into razor-sharp images, reports the Cupertino-based tech giant.

Reviewers, however, pointed out that the resolution looks best only if you hold the tab 4 inches away from your eyes.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7

Samsung has always been known for its good looking devices. And it is said that even Apple has used a Samsung-manufactured screen for its third generation iPad.

Its 7.7 tab is also not an exception. The gorgeous Super AMOLED Plus 1280 x 800 pixels display with WXGA resolution packs in all the features that you expect in a 10-inch tab and provides an impressive impact on the viewer. Contrast ratio, viewing angle and color saturations are well-calibrated in this device.

Apple iPad 2

iPad 2 has an excellent screen, which is almost similar to the Retina display of iPhone 4. iPad 2's screen sports much lower pixel density of 132 ppi compared to the iPhone 4S, due to its larger screen size. With a well-calibrated IPS LCD display, the Apple tablet delivers bright images with good color contrast. Also, the Viewing Angle of the device is praiseworthy.

Galaxy Tab 10.1

Another Samsung tablet makes its place in the list of the tabs with best screens. And this 10.1-inch Android tablet is undoubtedly one of the most deserving ones.

The tablet has already known for being the thinnest and lightest in the market. The display of the tab is high definition and delivers excellent sharpness with 1280 x 800 WXGA pixels and a pixel density of 149 ppi. Also, the Korean electronics giant has packed in a Super PLS-based display that improves brightness and viewing angles. But one major drawback with this Samsung tab is that the company has turned the color so high that content with strong colors look obnoxiously bright.

Asus Transformer Prime

Transformer has already won hearts of millions of Android tablet lovers.

Apart from delivering knock-out performance, the tablet is one of the good looking tablets you find in the market.

The Transformer Prime display sports a Super IPS+LCD capacitive screen. The screen features 1280 x 800 pixels with similar 149 ppi as the Galaxy tab 10.1. The tablet also provides very good contrast (not as good as iPad 2 though), accurate colors and good Viewing Angle performance.

The Ice Cream Sandwich OS of the tablet also enhances the readability on high-resolution screens and brings a polished, modern feel to the user interface.
