As summer reaches its height, the fall TV season looms large on the horizon. As HBO Now grows in popularity, so too does the maddening addition and subtraction of popular TV and movie content on the subscription-based service.

As July comes to a close, HBO Now will add and remove several of its big ticket items. Those hoping for a good crop of new TV shows and movies coming to the hit subscription service won’t be disappointed when August rolls around.

Next month will see the finale of several hit new shows such as “True Detective,” “Ballers” and “The Brink.” In addition, it will debut an original comedy special from comedians like Tig Notaro, a miniseries from “The Wire” creator called “Show Me a Hero” and the premiere of “Hard Knocks Camp with the Houston Texans.”

In addition to an expansion of its Saturday Night Movie highlights, HBO Now is also launching a new collection of shows highlighting its recent record-breaking 126 Emmy nominations. The network claims it’s the “perfect place to catch up on all of HBO’s Emmy-nominated series, films, mini-series, documentaries and specials.”

Unfortunately, with the addition of new content each month comes the loss of some other popular content. August will be people’s last chance to catch movies like “Ender’s Game,” “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and "The Wolverine." Check out a list of just some of the great content coming to and leaving HBO Now starting Aug. 1st.
