Heavy gunfire and explosions were heard in the Yemeni capital on Sunday, witnesses said, just a day after a Saudi-brokered truce, reported Reuters.

The gunfire was centered on the Hasaba district, a focal point of fighting in recent weeks between Saleh's forces and members of the powerful Hashed tribe led by Sadeq al-Ahmar.

Saudi Arabia had brokered a truce between the Hashed tribe and Saleh forces on Saturday, hours before wounded President Ali Abdullah Saleh flew to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment, said the report.
