A tourist helicopter colliding into a small plane on August 8 over the Hudson River in New York was caught on camera.

The footage was shot by an Italian tourist who was experimenting with his new camera while boating on the river.

Nine people were killed, two on the plane and seven in the helicopter.

The small plane was a 1976 piper. It lost contact with the ground over the river between the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels shortly after takeoff, sources said.

The helicopter, which belonged to the Liberty Helicopter Tours, took off from Pier 30 and also lost contact.
