In episode 8 of AMC’s "Hell on Wheels," Naomi (MacKenzie Porter) got fed up with Bohannon's (Anson Mount) violent world and took off for Fort Smith. Bohannon let her stay at the fort and vowed to return for her and the baby, but it may not be the worst thing for her to be away from Cheyenne because trouble is coming in episode 9. The synopsis for the Sept. 27 episode promises a showdown between Bohannon and killer-turned-lawman Syd Snow (Johnathan Scarfe).

Fans will remember Syd Snow from Episode 5, when Mexican outlaws showed up for him. The confrontation led to a shootout in which Syd killed more than a few people -- including a young boy. In episode 8, "Under Color of Law," Campbell (Jake Weber) pardoned Snow and deployed him as a U.S. Marshal in a last-ditch effort to restore order to Cheyenne. Campbell had Snow lock up Durant (Colm Meaney) and many other railroad men.

This does not sit well with Bohannon, and in the upcoming episode, "Two Trains," he is determined to have them freed. The synopsis for episode 9 teases that Bohannon will go head-to-head with the new Marshal. And from the look of the last scene of episode 8, it will not be a peaceful meeting.

A sneak peek scene from episode 9 shows Bohannon confronting Snow about the prisoners. He is giving Snow one chance to settle the matter peacefully, but Snow does not seem willing to break. At the end of the scene Bohannon hints at what he is willing to do if Snow does not do as he asks.

Who will win when Bohannon and Snow face off in episode 9 of "Hell on Wheels?" If Bohannon ever hopes to get back to his mountain railroad project, he is going to have to go through Snow first. Though he has tried to stay out of trouble all season, fans might finally get to see Bohannon unleashed in the next episode. "Hell on Wheels" episode 9 airs Saturday, Sept. 27, at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
