Further proving that no show is dead as long as its fans are dedicated enough, NBC released a new official teaser trailer for “Heroes Reborn.” While it doesn’t show any of the original returning cast, it does set the stage for what the new event series will be about by asking one key question.

The teaser, posted below, seems to highlight all of the grieving, lost and forgotten people in various parts of the world all asking: “Where are the heroes?” That’s not an unfair question as many of the fans of the show have been asking the same thing since the revival was announced. After beginning a very lucrative and beloved series in 2006, “Heroes’” original run on NBC lasted through 2010. Since then, the audience hasn’t seen any heroes in action and, apparently, neither have the people of the show’s universe.

This is an intriguing question to appear in the world of “Heroes” since, as ScreenCrush notes, [SPOILER ALERT] the series ended its run with the world learning for the first time that people with super powers, or “abilities,” actually exist. According to the revival’s official plot synopsis, the show will venture back to its Season 1 roots in which people were waking up one day to discover that they had powers beyond that of a normal human. This led many to believe that the show would have to take place several years after the ending of the original series, and now the new teaser trailer seems to confirm that.

“Heroes Reborn” will be a lot more than your average 13-episode miniseries when it returns on Sept. 24. According to Deadline, not only will principal stars Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green, Henry Zebrowski, Judith Shekoni, Danika Yarosh and Rya Kihlstedt be returning, but they’ll follow a prequel web series that will explain what’s been going on in the world since the 2010 finale of “Heroes” and the beginning of “Heroes Reborn.” Details of the web series are expected to drop when the show makes its triumphant return to San Diego Comic-Con in July.
