Blizzard is stepping up content for its MOBA “Heroes of the Storm,” announcing on Wednesday during Gamescom 2015 that there will be three new heroes, a new map and a bunch of new skins for existing heroes.

The first character, Kharazim from “Diablo 3,” was originally announced during E3 2015 – but with the trailer being released it seems he will be joining the Nexus soon. The monk is a support melee character.

“Kharazim can select Iron Fists to gain bonus attack damage, Transcendence to heal himself through melee combat, or Insight to restore mana and find a balance between both offensive and defensive roles,” the Blizzard announcement says.

Finally “Heroes of the Storm” players have that Rexxar hype, with Blizzard announcing that the “Warcraft” character will be joining the fight. He is a ranged warrior and will be joined by his bear Misha.

“Misha is integral to Rexxar’s gameplay, harassing enemies, absorbing damage, and stunning enemy characters with a targeted charge ability,” said Blizzard.

The third character is Artanis from “StarCraft,” a warrior and the leader of the Protoss. He also looks really badass.

“He’ll be bringing some heavy-hitting abilities with him,” said Blizzard.

Finally, a new map named Infernal Shrines was announced, sticking with the “Eternal Conflict” theme that Blizz has going on at the moment.

The “Diablo” battleground has three shrines that “will periodically gather power. Teams can unleash this power by activating a shrine, defeating its guardians, and summoning a devastating Punisher to fight for them.”

Sounds a lot like a mix between Sky Temple and Tomb of the Spider Queen! The difference with Infernal Shrines is that “these powerful bosses will spawn with one of three deadly affixes -- Arcane, Frozen or Mortar -- and will hunt down nearby enemy Heroes as well as pushing the lane closest to their shrine. ”

In addition to the new characters and map Blizzard will also be releasing new skins for existing characters, including "Earthbreaker Thrall," "Sgt. Doomhammer," "Judgement Uther," and "Prisoner Tychus."

New mounts will also be available, with Blizz previewing "Malthael's Phantom," "Treasure Goblin," and "Judgement Charger."

Blizzard did not announce when “Heroes of the Storm” players can expect the content to drop, but the hype has already started, so we hope it will be sooner rather than later. In the meantime, the August North America Open will be held Aug. 22-23, so get ready to watch the best teams battle it out for a spot in the America Championship.
