After celebrating one year of wedded bliss, former "Lizzie McGuire" star Hilary Duff, has announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

The 23-year-old actress and singer announced the news on her blog, after noting that she and her hockey player husband, Mike Comrie, are celebrating their one year wedding anniversary.

"We also want to share the exciting news that BABY MAKES THREE!!! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives," she wrote.

The couple married last year on Aug. 14 in Santa Barbara. In fact, she announced the news on her wedding anniversary. Duff is ecstatic about starting a family with Comrie. It has been a happy one year for Duff and Comrie.

Hello everyone! This weekend, Mike and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary!' she wrote.

'In memory of the special day, we decided to post some of our favorite pictures from our wedding!

'I can't believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you're having fun!

Duff had said earlier this month that she and Mike were excited to have kids, but were planning to wait a bit longer as she wanted to make a new album.

Duff appeared in the independent drama "Bloodworth" earlier this year. Duff will be playing the title character in her upcoming film Bonnie and Clyde. Canadian-born Comrie plays hockey for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
