South Florida home owners are hoping to cash in on the Super Bowl by renting out their homes for less than the average hotel room.
For instance, Davona Lynch is offering her three-bedroom, two-bath home that is 15 minutes from Land Shark Stadium for a nightly rate of $300. She thinks it's a good deal for people who want a kitchen and a washer/dryer.
Earl Hord is offering his 5,000-square-foot home in Pompano Beach for $15,000 a week. You can put as many as 10 people in it, and when you think of it like that, $15,000 isn't a staggering dollar amount, he says.
Craiglist.com, which is free, and SuperBStays.com, which charges $99, are two popular places to list available properties. Dave Erickson, owner of SuperBStays, says he has everything from luxury estates to single rooms for rent.
