Honey Boo Boo’s mom June Shannon exchanged vows with her longtime boyfriend Mike Thompson, better known to fans as Sugar Bear, on May 5 in a camouflage-themed celebration in their backyard.

The couple, who met nine years ago in an online chat room, according to People, have not revealed whether the ceremony was an official wedding or simply a recommitment ceremony.

"My sister baked the cake, and we spent most of the money on barbecue," she said. "We stayed true to our roots and made the focus on the family and my commitment to Sugar Bear. You can definitely plan an event on a budget!"

To celebrate the occasion, Shannon, 33, and Thompson, 41, donned matching camouflage outfits. Shannon wore a camouflage-print wedding dress, with a bright orange sash and a bouquet of multicolored dyed roses. Thompson wore a camouflage tie and trousers and with an orange vest that matched Shannon’s sash.

In typical pageant fashion, Shannon’s 7-year-old daughter, Alana, wore an even more dramatic costume than her mother's: a neon pink beaded tulle gown with tiered ruffles. But the day wasn’t all about fashion. Although Shannon and Thompson stayed mum on whether the event marked their legal marriage, Shannon said the ceremony was about demonstrating their love for one another.

"The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it," Shannon said. "I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear."

She added that she hoped her own daughters would heed her words of advice. "Never settle for a man who doesn't treat you right," she said. "If a guy doesn't love everything about you, move on! There are plenty of other fish in the sea."

"I give this advice to my daughters," she added, "because I always want them to be themselves and surround themselves with people who love them for them."

Earlier this year, Shannon dropped a bombshell when she revealed that she had lost more than 100 lbs since the beginning of filming “Here Comes Honey Boo,” in 2011.

"I haven't done any surgeries ... no diet pills ... never went to the gym, but with the show I've been more active,” Shannon told TMZ. "They have me running around and going different places ... I guess it's paying off."
