Consumer prices in Hong Kong rose 1.2% year-on-year in March, at a faster pace compared to a 0.8% rise in February. The increase came in line with economists' expectations.

Meanwhile, the consumer price index, adjusted for seasonal effects, was almost flat in the January to March period.

In the first quarter, consumer prices increased 1.7% over a year earlier.

For the twelve months ended March, consumer prices were up 3.6% compared to the same period in the previous year.
