RTTNews - Tuesday, Hong Kong's Census and Statistics Department said the current account surplus stood at HK$ 40.8 billion in the first quarter, down from HK$ 80.3 billion surplus in the previous quarter. A year earlier, current account surplus was HK$ 50.3 billion.

The capital and financial account deficit narrowed to HK$ 30.2 billion in the first quarter from HK$ 69.08 billion last quarter.

At the same time, the net inflow of financial non-reserve assets amounted HK$ 31.2 billion in the first quarter, compared with a HK$ 73.9 billion in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, net inflow of capital transfers totaled HK$ 7.4 billion, up from HK$ 4.3 billion in the fourth quarter.
