NEW YORK - Hospital-products maker Hospira Inc boosted its full-year profit and revenue forecasts on Thursday as it showcased its operations to Wall Street.

The company forecast 2009 earnings per share of $2.80 to $2.85, according to a slide presentation included in a securities filing. It previously forecast profit of $2.70 to $2.75 per share.

Analysts on average had been looking for $2.77 a share, according to Reuters Estimates.

At its investor day in Chicago, Hospira also forecast global revenue to rise 5 percent to 7 percent this year on a constant currency basis. That compares with a prior outlook of 4 percent to 6 percent growth. (Reporting by Lewis Krauskopf; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
