Update as of 4:50 a.m. EDT: The hostage situation at a suburban Paris shopping center ended after French special forces evacuated 18 people, Agence France-Presse reported.

Police reportedly said there were no injuries in the incident where gunmen broke into a Primark clothing store. Authorities are reportedly searching for the gunmen.

Gunmen have reportedly taken 10 people hostage in a Primark store near Paris on Monday morning. Special forces have been dispatched to the site at the Qwartz mall in Villeneuve-la-Garenne north of Paris.

"Around 6.30am, two or three armed criminals went into the Primark store for what we think was initially an attempt at armed robbery," a police source told local media, according to Agence France-Presse.

All traffic in the area has been stopped and all nearby shops have been closed, BBC reported, citing police.
