The U.S House Passed a strict bill today to ban members of congress and other government officials from insider trading, the bill that president obama called on congress to send last month during his State of the Union Speech.

The measure, passed 417 votes against 2 today in Washington, would prohibit memebr of Congress, thier staff and some executive branch workers from trading stocks, commodities or futures based on their access to non-public information.

On February 2, The Senate passed a lighter version of a sweeping ethics bill that would ban lawmakers' insider trading for personal gain.
