The New York Islanders are on fire. After the Isles beat the Florida Panthers at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in double overtime Sunday, they advanced to begin a second-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday, winning Game 1 on the Lightning's home ice.

After one more game on the road, the Islanders will return to Barclays Center on Tuesday night. So how to do you get tickets? Continue reading to find out.

The best thing to do, of course, would be to buy pre-sale tickets. But that’s possible only for people who have an American Express card. For the rest of us, the best thing to do is have your credit card information ready at at 10 a.m. EDT Thursday. Tickets will be available on islanders.nhl.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.

There’s even better news for fans who are season ticket holders for next season. They are given priority price and seat locations for this year's playoffs.

When the Tampa series comes to Brooklyn, the Islanders will face off against the Lightning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, and at the same time Friday, May 6. If the series continues to Game 6, the teams will return to Brooklyn on Tuesday, May 10. The time has not yet been set.

Islanders captain John Tavares told the New York Times on Monday that “our fans were dying for this,” in regard to Sunday’s win against the Panthers, which clinched the Islanders' first triumph in a playoff series since 1993. “They deserve it.”

Frans Nielsen, the player with the most years on the team, was thrilled with the win. “It’s been a long road, a lot of years of losing, but this is incredible,” he said. “We had to work so hard for it. It is really satisfying sitting here right now, the way we did it.”

Now, the Islanders are hoping to knock out Tampa Bay. “We expect [Tampa] to play their best game of the series,” Islanders Coach Jack Capuano told the Times before Wednesday’s game. “Our guys understand that and realize that. It’s about desire and desperation.”

The Islanders defeated the Lightning 5-3 in Game 1 on Wednesday.
