It’s time for a legen – wait for it – dary “How I Met Your Dad” rumor/ spoiler roundup. The latest scoop on the “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff is that the series has a lead actress for the “Ted” role … and it’s someone already associated with the long-running comedy.

According to E! Online, show creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays have tapped Lyndsy Fonseca to play the lead in the “How I Met Your Dad” series. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because she’s Ted’s daughter who viewers see on screen every once in a while in flash-forwards.

But fans excited about the spinoff shouldn’t rejoice just yet. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that no one has been cast in the pilot just yet. “We’re meeting people, but no one is cast yet,” Thomas explained.

So while Fonseca’s participation in the spinoff isn’t actually confirmed, “How I Met Your Mother” fans can still look forward to some closure with her character. Thomas revealed at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that viewers will learn the names of Ted’s kids … soon!

“You’re going to learn the kids names next week (Monday, Jan. 20) in ‘Unpause,’” Thomas dished. “Someone’s going to get mad at me [for saying] that.”

Check out other scoop we know on the “How I Met Your Dad” spinoff show:

-The series is definitely called “How I Met Your Dad” (HIMYD) and not “How I Met Your Father” (HIMYF). Bays joked that he doesn’t want fans to get confused when “news breaks about our other pilot, ‘Hey I Made You Fart.’”

-Adios MacLaren's! A new show means a new bar.

-Characters in the coming series will not be making cameos in the ninth and final season of “How I Met Your Mother.”
