“Splatoon 2” won’t be available for the Nintendo Switch until this summer, but fans will be able to try it out today and for the rest of the weekend. The “Splatoon 2” Global Testfire appears to be short and will only occur for an hour at a time.

In order to participate in the Global Testfire, Nintendo Switch owners must download the “Splatoon 2” Global Testfire app from the eShop. The download file size is pretty small and will only take up 408MB of storage, according to Game Rant.

To start playing, gamers must wait for the scheduled one-hour long periods. The first testing period will start today at 12 p.m. and end on 12:59 pm. PT. The second round of testing for the day will happen at 8 p.m. and end at 8:59 p.m. PT.

Here’s the schedule on each of the “Splatoon 2” Global Testfire for the rest of the weekend.

  • March 25: 4-4:59 a.m. PT
  • March 25: 12-12:59 p.m. PT
  • March 25: 8-8:59 p.m. PT
  • March 26: 4-4:59 a.m. PT

Overall, that’s a total of six hours of playtime across three days. That really is a short period of time to test out the game, and fans should probably try to clear their schedule in order to participate.

Another significant thing about the “Splatoon 2” Global testfire is that this will be one of the first times that Nintendo Switch gamers will play online, as pointed out by Polygon. This will be a perfect time for gamers to test out the Switch’s portability by connecting it to Wi-Fi networks outside their homes.

“Two years have passed in this universe since the original ‘Splatoon,’ and since then, the weapons, maps and characters have evolved,” “Splatoon 2” producer Hisashi Nogami said. “Through the ‘Splatoon 2’ Global Testfire event this March, players will be able to get a taste of that. There will be more new features to experience in Splatoon 2, so please look forward to more reveals in the future.”
