Apparently a member of the XDA developers forum found the phone for sale on Craigslist and posted some pictures. The most obvious detail is a big "California" label, which has spurred some disposable discussion about whether the phone will come in location-specific models or whether it's just a sticker.
The poor prototype sported a cracked (but impressively huge) 4.5 inch touchscreen, which is as big as smartphones come -- and few even come that big. Samsung is currently saying size matters with the Infuse 4G, and there are also rumors of the subtly named Hercules, both of which reach the 4.5 inch mark.
but there were enough details seen (and rumored) to satisfy smartphone enthusiasts: an Android OS 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) device with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 dual core processor and 1GB RAM. The aforementioned screen is qHD ('quarter' 1080p or 960×540 pixels) with both front and back cameras (1.3 and 8 megapixels, respectively). The Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi capabilities were easy to spot as well, due to the connections plainly visible on the prototype casing.
One of the initial reports, from Chris Burns at Slashgear, noted that "the back has a conductive charge port sort of deal on it – we can assume by taking a peek at this that this device will come with a charger that’ll be able to plug into the wall and sit on your desk where you’ll be able to simply place the smartphone and let it charge (as opposed to having to plug the device in itself.)"
The "myATT" on the phone essentially confirms one of the carriers, although it must be stressed that nothing about the photos is ultimately confirmation of anything -- not even that we're seeing an actual HTC Holiday prototype, or that the final model will be similar in design or sport the same features.
