HTC press invite for March 25 event. HTC

HTC will share its latest developments at a press event on March 25, the Taiwanese manufacturer announced on Tuesday. Save the date press invites have been sent out for a launch event that will take place simultaneously in New York and London on that date. Little information beyond the date has been given, but most expect HTC’s next flagship may be unveiled.

Several rumors have surrounded the next HTC flagship, which is currently being referred to as the HTC M8. Notably, the HTC One was codenamed M7 prior to its release; this leads many to believe the M8 will be another flagship. Actual name suggestions for the device include the HTC One 2 and HTC One+, but no titles have been confirmed.

The most readily accepted specs proposed for the HTC M8 include a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset, 2GB of RAM, an UltraPixel main camera and 2.1-megapixel front camera, WiFi ac and the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with an HTC Sense 6.0 overlay.

Recently leaked images of the supposed HTC M8 also indicate that the device may be similar to its HTC One predecessor in design. It appears the handset may feature a dual rear camera setup, which will reportedly include some post-snap focusing features.

There also have been rumors about a possible HTC M8 Mini as well as the HTC Desire 8, but many note that such a mid-range or low-end device probably will not be announced at a dedicated unveiling event such as this one.
