The Hungarian forint traded down against the US dollar during early deals on Wednesday. At 3:15 am ET, the forint touched a 6-day low of 227.05 against the dollar, compared to Tuesday's closing value of 223.60. The next downside target level for the Hungarian currecny is seen around 229.9.

Hungary's Central Statistical Office said today in a preliminary report that the trade surplus stood at EUR 279 million in February, after a deficit of EUR 194 million in January, revised from EUR192 million estimated initially. A year ago, the surplus was EUR 161.4 million.
